MICIA
Micia Mosely, Ph.D. is a comedian and educator who keeps audiences learning & laughing in a variety of contexts and venues. She performs her brand of social justice stand up comedy and hosts events nationwide. A long time educator, Mosely's work is rooted in the liberation of Black communities. She is the founder and director of The Black Teacher Project, an organization committed to helping Black teachers create communities of liberated learning. CONSCIOUS COMEDY
Micia Mosely loves to make people laugh, think and transform their lives. She uses improvisation, puppets, video, drumming, drag, powerpoint, flip charts, lesbian processing –essentially whatever won’t get her arrested.
Micia demonstrates that art has power when people take action. Art is not something to simply be consumed but used to strengthen individuals and communities.
Micia reminds us that performers and audience members co-create experiences that prove people can come together and generate change.
Her recent performances highlight audience members participating in their own consciousness raising.

Micia Mosely, Ph.D. has dedicated her career to helping students reach their full creative and academic potential. A teacher, analyst and product of public education, she designs custom reform strategies that help educators and administrators increase equity while maximizing school performance.
Mosely brings a wealth of classroom experience to her work, infusing bold strategies with real-world approaches that understand the burdens faced by educators and administrators. She is an expert on leadership, cultural competence, data-based inquiry and school design.
