Meet Micia The Educator
Micia Mosely, Ph.D. designs custom reform strategies that help educators increase equity while maximizing school performance. An expert on leadership, cultural competence, data-based inquiry and school design, Mosely brings practical classroom experience to her work, infusing innovative strategies with real-world approaches that understand the burden educators and administrators face.
Mosely began her career as the Social Studies department head at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School in San Francisco, CA and received her Ph.D. in Education, with an emphasis on Social and Cultural Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. She has advised educators and administrators at the nation’s top schools as a coach at the Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools (BayCES). Drawing on her extensive background in performing arts, she has led creative trainings and leadership development seminars that help her clients build equitable, efficient schools and organizations. Currently she is a Senior Training Specialist with The Posse Foundation (www.possefoundation.org) and a speaker with The Lecture Bureau (www.thelecturebureau.com).
